This shoe is sometimes referred to as the 'V' front because of the cut of the quarter as it tapers down from the laces.

This is a plain Gibson shoe and is built on TL1 last. It is quite rare to see a two eyelet Gibson but the effect is a longer 'sweep' from the instep to the toe, making the shoe appear more elegant and longer than a 5 eyelet.

This sweep has to be created by 'blocking', as on the Chelsea, otherwise the leather loses it's shape and sags around the foot after a couple of wears.

A pair of shoe trees can be purchased for Black Sole shoes, cut from the original last so that they fit the shoe perfectly.
