Again a very traditional boot, the '40 Days' is known in the trade as a Veldschoen.
This name refers to the welting process that is unique and helps to keep the boot almost totally waterproof.
The leather lining is thicker than on a normal shoe and is lasted and welted like an upper. The real upper is then pulled over the top and stitched in a way that eliminates the normal gap between it and the welt thus preventing water entering the shoe. It has a rugged commando sole that is stitched with special impregnated, waterproof stitching and the upper leather is oily Brown Calf helping to make it one of the toughest boots ever made.
