This is a very traditional English style called the Monk Shoe.

If you look closely at the 'Caldonia', you will see that the 'Sundown' is its twin brother, the only real difference being the strap that comes over the instep pulling together the two sides of the Quarter.

This is an old English classic and a shoe favoured by certain people who would not be seen in anything else.

The name comes from the fact that in monasteries, shoes would always be fastened by a strap and buckle.
